Georgia Tech has produced some incredible players over the years and it’s had some solid coaching in the form of Paul Johnson before he retired after 11 seasons with the program.

The Yellow Jackets turned to up-and-comer Geoff Collins from Temple who went 15-10 in two seasons with the Owls. He hadn’t quite proven himself worthy of a Power Five job yet, but it was a high-risk, high-reward situation for the Yellow Jackets. He did have a major rebuild ahead of him, but through three seasons, the program hasn’t improved.

In year one, the Yellow Jackets went just 3-9 and then 3-7 in a COVID-19-shortened 2020 season before yet another three-win campaign in 2021. Three straight three-win seasons won’t exactly cut it anywhere.

A 9-25 record over three years isn’t exactly something to write home about and the former Florida and Mississippi State defensive coordinator looks like he could be the next to join Nick Saban’s staff of former head coaches at Alabama.
