Which players improved their draft stock on Day 1 of the 2022 NFL Combine? There were some quick risers among the tight ends and receivers.

College football and NFL fans are joining forces this week to witness the annual NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

While the season ended a couple of months ago, some of the top NFL draft prospects have been hard at work this offseason, proving themselves worthy of a draft selection next month.

Day 1 of the NFL Combine is officially in the books as quarterbacks, receivers, and tight ends all worked out and some stood out above the rest.

We will throw a mention to Malik Willis who reportedly interviewed the best and many scouts believe he has the highest ceiling of the quarterbacks in this class.

Which prospects improved their stocks the most on Day 1?

For a little while, it looked like Tyquan Thornton broke the 40-yard dash record previously held by John Ross with a blazing 4.21 unofficial time. However, the official number came out later and he clocked in at 4.28 which was the best of the day and one of the top times ever.

Although he didn’t break the record officially, he still came close and showed that he doesn’t just have solid size (6-3, 185 pounds) but he’s also a blur. He’s the fastest wideout in the class.

Thornton needed a big combine performance to rise on draft boards and he did just that. He finished his Baylor career with over 2,000 yards and 19 touchdowns on 143 catches. He’s going to be looked at as a nice early-round option at receiver.
