Quarterback

Starter: Myles Brennan

Backup: Garrett Nussmeier or Walker Howard

LSU is going to be missing Max Johnson who decided to transfer to Texas A&M and that leaves a bit of uncertainty at the most important position on the field. Some good news for LSU is that Myles Brennan decided to come back for his final season in college football and he has experience but struggles to stay healthy.

Brennan has flashed when given the chance, but he has to show that he can be on the field for 12 games. If Brennan can’t stay healthy or does not play at a high level, then LSU has two blue-chip quarterbacks waiting in the wings for their opportunity.

Garrett Nussmeier and Walker Howard are two four-star quarterback recruits from the last two recruiting classes and they are the future of the position. Given how talented they are, it is not out of the question for either of them to beat out Brennan in the spring. However, I think it is safe to assume that entering the season, Brennan will be the starter.
