Baylor Football: Way-too-Early 2022 Game Predictions
Baylor Football shocked the country and won the Big 12 and the Sugar Bowl in 2021. What will the Bear’s record be in 2022?
Baylor Football was coming off of a disappointing 2020 season in what was head coach Dave Aranda’s first season as the head coach in Waco. Flash forward a year and the Bears are now the kings of the Big 12 and have a lot of momentum as a program. Aranda signed a lucrative extension to stay with Baylor for the foreseeable future after he was pursued by LSU and USC this offseason.
However, Aranda is going to have to prove that 2021 was not a fluke and that Baylor football is going to be the top program in the new Big 12 once Texas and Oklahoma leave.
For 2022, the Bears will be trying to use the same recipe to get back and win the Big 12 and that is running the ball and playing defense. The offensive line is bringing back the majority of the starters and the front seven should be elite again.
The question marks are going to be there though. Baylor did not win any games because of their quarterback play and their passing attack is suspect. The secondary was one of the nation’s best and is missing some of the best players from that unit. Another thing to worry about is running back Abram Smith is gone to the NFL. Baylor has some talented backs, but Smith was a reliable player for them.
The Big 12 has lots of questions about it. Baylor is going to be one of the popular picks to make the title game and to win the conference. A favorable schedule does await the Bears in 2022 and it will be up to them to capitalize on it.
Here are the way-too-early 2022 game predictions for Baylor.
