Baylor Football: Way-too-Early 2022 Game Predictions
After a tough loss on the road to BYU, Baylor gets to head back home for their final non-conference game of the season against Texas State. The Bobcats have been an up and down under head coach Jake Spavital, but they have been able to score some points usually.
This is not going to be much of a game though. The Bobcats have struggled immensely on the defensive side of the football and won’t be able to slow down Baylor’s offense. Expect another game in which Baylor gets up early and coasts the rest of the way.
Final Score: Baylor 55, Texas State 13 (2-1)
For the Big 12 conference opener and final game of September, Baylor will go on the road to one of the toughest venues in the Big 12. Iowa State has become a perennial Big 12 contender under Matt Campbell, but it is possible that this could be one of the toughest seasons for the Cyclones. Iowa State lost some of their most impactful players in school history and that will mean a bit of a rebuild this season.
Just because they will be rebuilding does not mean that the team will be bad. Campbell is one of the best coaches in the country and always gets the best out of his teams. Iowa State plays better when they are the underdog and they will be this season. However, Baylor is going to be a tough team to upset this early in the season, even in Ames. Baylor wins a close one on the road.
Final Score: Baylor 31, Iowa State 20 (3-1, 1-0 Big 12)
