2. Thomas Fidone, TE

This is a familiar name to Nebraska football fans but one guy the Huskers really need to deliver in the 2022 season is tight end Thomas Fidone.

Fidone was the No. 1 ranked tight end according to 247 sports and Rivals in the 2021 recruiting class and was rated as the No. 32 overall prospect by Rivals.

Fidone is 6-foot-6 and athletic as all get out. He’s a true move tight end and he was supposed to make an immediate impact for the Nebraska football team but suffered a knee injury last spring. The good news is that Fidone came back and played a few snaps this past season and is now healthy.

And with Austin Allen declaring for the NFL draft, Nebraska football has a big void at the tight end position. But thankfully, they also have one of the most talented players in the country with the ability to take over the position and he’s healthy which makes him an easy breakout candidate.

Fidone should also benefit from having Whipple and is one of the pass catchers that should really benefit from having a better passer in Thompson at quarterback too.
