Quarterback

Starter: Dorian Thompson-Robinson
Backup: Ethan Garbers

Dorian Thompson-Robinson is going to be back for another season as the UCLA starting quarterback, but that might not be how the Bruins originally wanted it.

UCLA was pursuing other quarterbacks in the transfer portal and even had UCF transfer Dillon Gabriel committed at one point before Oklahoma came calling. Caleb Williams was pursued as well before he chose rival USC, so it will now be Thompson-Robinson’s job still.

Thompson-Robinson has made strides as a passer but is still not consistent enough to take UCLA further. He does not turn the ball over and is a threat running back, but accuracy is still not very good. He is settled in as a good, but not a great quarterback.

The backup is going to be the same as last year as well, Ethan Garbers came over from Washington last season and should be a solid backup yet again.
