Big 12 Football: 3 most overrated head coaches heading into 2022
Big 12 football is home to a number of top-tier coaches and even some up-and-comers, but who are the most overrated heading into 2022?
There have been a lot of huge Big 12 football coaching changes over the past couple of years.
The conference may be experiencing some future changes in the realignment world with Texas and Oklahoma leaving for the SEC and UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, and BYU joining, but the coaching changes have taken center stage as well.
Some of the league’s top teams have made coaching changes over the past couple of seasons and especially this past offseason.
Oklahoma lost Lincoln Riley in shocking fashion to USC, Baylor lost Matt Rhule to the NFL and hired Dave Aranda from LSU, TCU parted ways with Gary Patterson, and Texas fired Tom Herman and hired Steve Sarkisian.
These contenders weren’t the only ones to make changes as Kansas parted ways with Les Miles and have since hired Lance Leipold, Kansas State went with Chris Klieman after the Billy Snyder era, West Virginia replaced Dana Holgorsen (who left for Houston) with Neal Brown, and Texas Tech lost Kliff Kingsbury to the NFL and then hired Matt Wells who struggled and has since been replaced with Joey McGuire.
