Texas A&M Football: Way-too-early 2022 game predictions
By Austin Lloyd
Game 7: at South Carolina (W)
Now this game just might be a bit more intriguing than meets the eye, as Gamecocks head coach Shane Beamer has made quite an impact on the team’s overall performance in his short time there. And it’s not like Williams-Brice Stadium is a place for the faint of heart.
However, the Aggies are the stronger team and will be coming off of their only bye week following their first loss to Alabama. In other words, A&M will be both angry and well-rested. South Carolina isn’t ready for a challenge like that yet.
Record: 6-1, 3-1
Game 8: vs. Ole Miss (W)
These last four league games for Texas A&M will be very choppy, and it will all kick off with the Ole Miss Rebels strolling into College Station.
Lane Kiffin is a very smart coach, and the duo consisting of his IQ and the talent on his roster will shake things up for the Aggies early. But despite that, I see A&M pulling away late and holding on by around two scores.
Record: 7-1, 4-1
Game 9: vs. Florida (W)
We’ve already covered teams that look promising but don’t appear ready for too big of challenges, but just in case anyone hasn’t gotten the memo quite yet, the Florida Gators under Billy Napier will be just that this fall.
Napier had success at Louisiana-Lafayette, and UF has done well in recruiting during his young tenure. However, he will most likely still need some time to settle in, and visiting Texas A&M in the middle of his first season of consistently facing SEC-caliber programs will, quite frankly, leave him molly-whopped.
Record: 8-1, 5-1
