LSU football has one of the most interesting college football QB competitions and here are some predictions as to who will be under center in 2022.

Few programs have undergone bigger changes than LSU football has since the end of last season as the Tigers hired Brian Kelly away from Notre Dame and have since transformed the roster.

Luring Kelly away from Notre Dame was huge and it’s likely that on top of the huge payday, he finally wanted to be able to recruit with the big boys and maybe, actually compete with them too.

So he hit the ground running in the transfer portal and few teams have been more productive in that avenue of adding talent than LSU football.

Yet, the move that might have the biggest impact on the Tigers’ 2022 season is the recent addition of Jayden Daniels, the former top-100 recruit and multi-year starter for Arizona State.

Additionally, Kelly convinced Myles Brennan to stay with LSU football after he was expected to transfer. He also signed highly-touted 2022 recruit Walker Howard too.

The addition of Daniels, who is taking part in spring ball with LSU has made it a three-way battle for quarterback, and here are three predictions/thoughts for how it will all shake out.

The starter won’t be decided this spring

This quarterback competition is going to bleed into the fall for a couple of reasons. One is that Howard has to be given an opportunity to learn the offense and grow.

He’s going to improve after spring and over the course of the summer. The same can be said about Daniels who is sort of viewed as a raw prospect who didn’t really reach his potential with Arizona State.

These guys will have to learn the system, along with Myles Brennan and while I have no doubt a hierarchy of sorts will emerge, this spring will be too early to name a starter.
