The action is picking up in College football’s 2023 recruiting class as a trio of top-100 recruits are now trending to Texas, Notre Dame, and Ohio State.

The 2023 college football recruiting class is starting to pick up and that’s only going to continue with more visits happening in the month of March and throughout the spring.

There are still a couple of prospects out there in the 2022 class such as five-star offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr., but the attention is on the 2023 class at this point, as well as the transfer portal.

And this week in college football recruiting there has been some key movement. Notre Dame football is one program that has had a good week on the trail as the Irish are now the favorite to land former Boston College commitment Boubacar Traore.

Traore re-opened his recruitment recently and even before he did, Notre Dame football was trending in the right direction. Now, the Irish have two crystal ball projections with an average confidence of six (1-10 scale) that he will wind up in Notre Dame’s 2023 class.

Michigan is also making a push for the 6-foot-4, 250-pounder, while Pittsburgh is also in the mix as is Boston College. But the kid with huge potential seems headed to the Notre Dame football program.

Ohio State football trending with five-star wide receiver

Carnell Tate is ranked as the No. 3 wideout in the entire college football recruiting class for 2023 according to the 247 sports composite rankings. The five-star prospect is also No. 21 overall and recently released a top five that included Ohio State football, Notre Dame, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee.

Yet, the IMG Academy recruit is already trending to Ohio State. Tom Loy and Steve Wiltfong have both put in crystal ball projections for Tate to wind up with the Buckeyes. Notre Dame is in the mix for sure and if the Irish could land five-star QB Dante Moore it would help.

But there is still work to do on that front and it’s hard to blame Tate or any wide receiver for choosing Ohio State after all the passing game success OSU has had under Ryan Day.

Texas football leads for five-star running back

Head coach Steve Sarkisian has done a stellar job recruiting since taking over the Texas football program and after signing a top-five college football recruiting class in 2022, he’s off to a start in 2023 as the Longhorns have two four-star pledges and are trending with five-star running back Rueben Owens.

Owens is 5-foot-11, 190 pounds and is ranked by the 247 sports composite rankings as the No. 2 running back in the country as well as the No. 3 player in the state of Texas.

The Longhorns now control six of the seven crystal ball projections and despite a strong list of contenders that includes Oklahoma, Georgia, and Alabama, Texas football seems poised for a big recruiting victory with one of 2023’s elite backs.
