Deion Colzie’s first season with Notre Dame was incredibly quiet. He finished with just four catches for 67 yards and many fans expected much more from him.

As a 6-4, 195-pound top-150 receiver from the 2021 recruiting class, Colzie was supposed to be a threat early on to get Notre Dame’s passing attack off the ground. Unfortunately, he just didn’t get much of an opportunity and the Irish offense didn’t exactly look like a well-oiled machine, especially through the air.

With hopefully a better quarterback situation heading into the 2022 season and Colzie projected to start at one of the receiver spots, I expect him to live up to his potential this spring.

I think we’re going to hear about the second-year receiver having a big spring because the Irish will need him to and hopefully he develops a nice connection with whoever wins the starting quarterback job.
