The Michigan State Spartans saw quite a leap in performance last season. Will next Fall see the continuation of such a trend?

The Michigan State football team was quite the force to be reckoned with last season, obtaining an admirable 11-2 record capped off with a 31-21 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers in the Peach Bowl.

The run was a pleasant surprise for the Spartans, who hadn’t seen an 11-win season since 2015. Under unproven head coach Mel Tucker, the team’s standards entering the Fall of 2021 could have only been so high (especially when playing in the often-overwhelming Big 10 Conference).

However, that did not stop Michigan State football from garnering tons of media attention and, for at least some time, playoff hype. Said hype only fizzled out when the Spartans suffered a pair of disheartening league losses to Purdue and Ohio State, respectfully.

The competition on Michigan State’s schedule won’t be any easier this time around, leaving folks to wonder as to whether or not Sparty will have the ability to get over the hump next season. Will MSU take a tumble back down to reality, or will they defy the odds once again? Let’s find out.

Here are the way-too-early game-by-game predictions for the Michigan State Spartans entering their 2022 slate.
