vs. Western Michigan (W)

When fans expect their team’s out-of-conference schedules to include “in-state rivals,” this is not exactly what they have in mind. That will be evident by viewing the final score after this disaster is over.

vs. Akron (W)

The Akron Zips may not be the most intimidating out-of-conference foe to take on, but the Spartans will be facing them before a big game, so maybe a pass can be given out for this one. However, that doesn’t mean that the game is any harder to predict the winner of.

@ Washington (W)

Now, this is an out-of-conference game to make some noise over. The Washington Huskies may not be playing at their best right now, but they’re still a big fish in a devilish pond known as Husky Stadium.

Michigan State is the superior team on paper–in regards to both roster and coach–and should be entering the game healthy, so they will get the nod here. But nonetheless, this is not a game to sleep on.
