Michigan State Football: Spartans 2022 game predictions
By Austin Lloyd
vs. Minnesota (W)
The average college football fan probably doesn’t know how solid of a team the Golden Gophers were last season. And especially when considering that this game is stuck between two big road trips for the Spartans, it most likely won’t be an easy win.
But similarly to the Washington game, Michigan State is the superior team entering the affair regardless of anything else. It may not be some dominating victory, but it will still manage to keep a goose egg in the Spartans loss column.
(4-0)
@ Maryland (W)
This matchup involves the Spartans traveling to a divisional foe stuck between a pair of huge conference deathmatches. In other words, Maryland has “trap game” stamped all over it. However, the Terrapins are too inconsistent to keep up with MSU, and the latter will escape what is to most likely be a high-scoring battle.
(5-0)
vs. Ohio State (L)
It could definitely be argued that Michigan State making it to 5-0 with those last three opponents involved a fair share of luck. Well keeping with that concept, this is where Sparty’s luck officially runs out.
The Buckeyes have downed the Spartans in their last six meetings with one another, and half of those have been decided by 40 points or more. The chances of MSU stealing a win here are microscopic at best.
