5. Spencer Rattler, South Carolina

Many college football pundits believed that Spencer Rattler was going to become the Heisman Trophy winner in 2021, as well as the top pick in the 2022 NFL draft. What a difference a year makes. Now, Rattler isn’t even on the Oklahoma football team and it’s not because he’s in the NFL. After losing his starting job to Caleb Williams, the former five-star recruit transferred to South Carolina in a huge boon for the Gamecocks. South Carolina surprised a few people last season and with Rattler, one of the most talented QBs in the country, the arrow is pointing up. And even though people were critical of Rattler, he completed 71 percent of his throws last season. He’s got elite arm talent and he will remind people of that this season in the SEC.

6. Grayson McCall, Coastal Carolina

Few college football quarterbacks have been as productive the past two seasons or won as many games as Coastal Carolina’s Grayson McCall. After starting as a redshirt freshman in 2021, McCall has led the Chanticleers to double-digit wins in consecutive seasons and he’s posted a 20-2 record as a starter. Coastal Carolina seems poised to breakthrough in 2022 and ready to reach the New Year’s Six. McCall is a big reason for that and after completing 71 percent of his passes to go along with a QB rating of 196 and his 14 rushing touchdowns, it’s easy to project another highly productive campaign.
