7. Cameron Rising, Utah

The former Texas commitment is one of many top-tier college football quarterbacks that started their career somewhere else. Yet, Rising found a home with the Utes, who he led to a Pac-12 championship in 2021 and nearly a Rose Bowl victory. Rising hit his head hard on the ground and left the game but was incredible prior to that completing 17-of-22 passes for 214 yards, as well as running for 92 yards and a score. While he only threw for 2,493 yards, he accounted for 26 total touchdowns and had the sixth-highest QBR in college football. He’s productive and he’s a winner.

8. Dillon Gabriel, Oklahoma

This is a bit of a projection, sort of like Spencer Rattler because Dillon Gabriel didn’t play last season with the Oklahoma Sooners. His 2021 season was riddled with injuries and things just didn’t work out all that well on the Gus Bus. But prior to that, Gabriel was one of college football’s most dynamic quarterbacks with a total of 61 touchdown passes compared to 11 interceptions in 2019 and 2020. He was hurt last year and now that he’s followed OC Jeff Lebby to OU, I’d expect Gabriel to return to the form we saw during his first two seasons as a starter.
