2022 NFL Mock draft: Projecting first-round after free agency and trades
This NFL mock draft had a run on offensive tackles early, and now starts the run on quarterbacks. After Seattle took a shot on Malik Willis, the Commanders get their guy in Kenny Pickett. The 6-foot-3 220-pound quarterback had a breakout season in 2021 throwing 42 touchdowns. His previous high was 13. He’s played a lot of football though and has a career completion percentage of 61. However, you have to ask if he’s a one-year wonder? Still, It’s worth the risk if you are Washington and he’s got a solid first-round grade.
The Vikings really need to improve their defense and Ahmad Gardner, who some see as the best cornerback in the draft seems like a great way to start that process. Minnesota could use an edge rusher too but Gardner is 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, and runs a 4.41 in the 40. He would really solidify things on the outside and frankly, the value here is too good to pass on.
