5 college football teams facing intense pressure in 2022
Nebraska
As bad as Norvell has been for Florida State football, he hasn’t been as bad as Scott Frost has been since getting hired as Nebraska football head coach.
The former national-championship winning quarterback and mythical national championship-winning head coach hasn’t had a winning season in four years in Lincoln and the Nebraska football faithful are getting restless.
Frost was supposed to Nebraska football’s Jim Harbaugh. Jim has won at least 10 games four times in seven years and won a championship. Frost hasn’t beaten Iowa, hasn’t had a winning season, and hasn’t won more than five games (15-29 overall).
Trev Alberts, another Nebraska football legend, took over as the AD last season and re-worked Frost’s deal to give him another season. Scott has hired an entirely new offensive staff and hit the transfer portal hard.
There is optimism surrounding Nebraska football again but it’s tepid. Husker fans have heard all over this before and amazingly, the program hasn’t had a winning season since 2016.
So either Frost wins or he gets fired and that’s why Nebraska football is going to be one of the teams facing intense pressure in 2022.
And while FSU and Nebraska are just hoping to get back on the winning track, some others are facing a different kind of pressure after winning, but just not enough.
