USC football hosted five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola for a visit this weekend and the Trojans are already trending with crystal balls for the 2024 QB.

Lincoln Riley’s ability to recruit 5-star quarterbacks is pretty impressive and the USC football head coach is doing it again with 2024 elite signal-caller Dylan Raiola.

Raiola is the son of former Nebraska football player and NFL offensive lineman Dominic Raiola who had a long career with the Detroit Lions.

Some Nebraska fans were hopeful that the legacy recruit would consider the Huskers and while he has to an extent, the Chandler, Arizona prospect seems like he could stay out West.

When USC football paid nearly $100 million for Riley to become its head coach, this was the reason why. Riley was an elite recruiter at Oklahoma, and the idea was that if he could put a fence around Southern California as Pete Carroll did, USC could make a return as a college football powerhouse.

But Riley has been even better than expected in his first few months and while there haven’t been any games on the field yet, he’s winning seemingly every recruiting battle, especially at the quarterback position.

Not only did he flip the commitment Malachi Nelson, the No. 2 overall player and quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class, from OU to USC football, Riley also landed former No. 1 overall quarterback Caleb Williams in the transfer portal this offseason too.

Raiola is 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, and is ranked as the No. 3 quarterback prospect as well as 27th overall in the 247 sports composite rankings. He also comes from the same school that produced Spencer Rattler.

Following his visit to USC football, a couple of experts on the West coast recruiting scene put in picks for him to land with the Trojans as Blair Angulo and Greg Biggins both put in projections with an average confidence level of five on a scale of 1-10.

USC has a 28-percent chance of landing Raiola according to the On3.com prediciton machine but that could be updated after this weekend’s visit and right now, the Trojans, and Riley more specifically feels like the odds-on favorite to land yet another elite quarterback.
