Arkansas football had a breakout season in 2021 and now there are a number of players who can carry that momentum over into 2022.

One of the biggest surprises in the country this past season was Arkansas football as the Razorbacks finished 9-4 and it was the first winning season for the program since 2016 when Bret Bielema was still head coach.

Sam Pittman has done a masterful job with the program after it went two years without a single SEC win under Chad Morris and now the Razorbacks are looking like conference title contenders.

With spring ball upon us and some key players departing, Pittman needs some Razorbacks to step up and break out.

Who will break out for Arkansas this spring?

Eric Gregory came in with the 2019 class and redshirted in his first season, playing in two games with four tackles and then had an impressive second campaign in 2020. He had 27 tackles, three tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks with an interception in eight games and he was a prime breakout candidate heading into the 2021 season but plateaued a bit.

Gregory finished with 27 total tackles again with four tackles for loss and a sack.

Now heading into the 2022 season, he is projected to start again at defensive end and he should be one of the best defenders on the team. Will he step up this spring and look like a budding star that everyone expected him to be in the 2021 campaign?

I see a huge spring from Gregory in 2022.
