Nebraska will be looking for a starting running back this spring and even with some guys on the roster who have experience in this offense, Anthony Grant is going to stand out.

The newcomer is ranked the No. 9 overall JUCO transfer in the 2022 class as well as the No. 1 running back at that level from New Mexico Military Institute. This just goes to show how highly regarded he was out of the JUCO ranks and he got more respect than rushers from the powerhouse junior college programs. He was also once a three-star commit and signee with Florida State.

Grant has solid size at 5-foot-11 and 210 pounds and he has the tools to become a lead back in this offense, beating out guys like Jaquez Yant and Rahmir Johnson for that No. 1 spot.

Nebraska’s leading rusher a year ago was quarterback Adrian Martinez and while he’s now gone, someone needs to step up in the backfield and show that they can shoulder the load.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Grant was that guy.
