Rose Bowl (Jan. 2) Michigan vs USC

Last season, Jim Harbaugh and Michigan football broke through by winning the Big Ten championship, which followed a win over Ohio State.

The Wolverines are ranked as the No. 4 team heading into 2022 according to ESPN’s FPI but that was the same metric that gave Michigan about a two percent chance of winning the Big Ten.

However, the Wolverines should be loaded on offense and the schedule isn’t all that difficult. The toughest game probably comes at Iowa or at home against Michigan State and even if the Wolverines lose one of those games, the final in Columbus will be for the Big Ten East.

If Michigan beats Michigan State, there’s a good chance Michigan heads to the Rose Bowl, even with a loss to the Buckeyes.

Utah is the trendy pick to win the Pac-12 but Lincoln Riley’s impact will be felt immediately. So will the addition of Caleb Williams and a number of other highly-touted recruits and transfers. Utah is good. USC will be better and it wil win the Pac-12 in Riley’s first season.
