College football is in the midst of spring practice right now and we’re getting a decent look at some contenders early on.

Going undefeated in college football is not easy. In fact, only two teams finished the 2021 regular season with an unblemished record, and they were Cincinnati which ran through the AAC, and Georgia which dominated SEC play until the conference title game against Alabama.

Zero teams finished the 2021 season and postseason with an unbeaten record.

Three teams had just one loss in Cincinnati, Louisiana, and Georgia. The Ragin’ Cajuns only had a season-opening loss to Texas before reeling off 13 straight, Cincinnati won 13 straight before losing to Alabama in the playoff, and Georgia won 12 straight in the regular season before losing to the Tide in the SEC title game.

It’s pretty clear that going unbeaten is one of the hardest feats in college athletics and you have to go back to 2020 to find the last team to run the table and that was Alabama which went 13-0.

But there are always a number of teams capable of going undefeated.

Heading into the 2022 season, there are 5-6 teams that I believe have the best chance to run the table and even win a national title with a perfect record.

Here are the five teams that I believe could go undefeated in 2022.
