New Orleans Saints

Earlier this week, the Saints made a trade with the Eagles to acquire a second first-round pick. Now, armed with two in the top 20 and also needing a quarterback, Malik Willis to the Saints seems like a real possibility.

Despite all the differences in opinion about this quarterback class, one of them is likely to get picked in the top 10, whether that’s Willis or someone like Pickett, who also seems to be moving up draft boards.

It’s not surprising because quarterbacks always move up late. It’s the most important/valuable position on the field.

New Orleans also has solid pieces to build around, but none of it works without a quarterback, and after being in cap hell for years, wouldn’t it be nice to work with a quarterback on a rookie contract?

Jameis Winston is currently projected to be the starter and again, it would be nice to not have to play Willis right away so that’s another plus for New Orleans. And with two first-round picks, the Saints should be able to move around and get their guy if needed.

It’s possible he falls into their lap at No. 17, but regardless, if Willis is on the board when New Orleans is on the clock, he should be a serious consideration.
