Clemson football’s spring game takes place on Saturday and here’s why you should tune in to watch the 2022 version of the Tigers.

Dabo Swinney is in the middle of an important spring with Clemson football.

The Tigers are fresh off a “disappointing” season that ended with a Cheez-It Bowl victory and fans are expecting much more from this year’s team even with new coordinators on both sides of the ball.

Clemson will give fans their first glimpse of the team on Saturday afternoon in the annual spring game.

Why should we be watching the Clemson spring game?

3. New coordinators at work

If you’ve followed Clemson this offseason or even college football as a whole, you would have seen Dabo Swinney’s staff get absolutely gutted at the top.

Brent Venables left for the opening at Oklahoma and Tony Elliott took the job at Virginia, leaving two huge vacancies on a team trying to get back to the College Football Playoff. Replacing those two wouldn’t be easy.

Swinney promoted two familiar faces in Brandon Streeter to offensive coordinator and Wes Goodwin to defensive coordinator. Both are familiar with the program and have already been on staff, but Swinney felt as if he needed to remain in-house with these hires and promoted both of them to replace Venables and Elliott.

It’ll be interesting to see if there are any noticeable changes on either side of the ball on Saturday with two new faces in charge.
