Clemson football was eliminated from the Arch Manning sweepstakes but now could be landing a top-flight QB in 2023 anyway.

It seems like a lot of college football fans and skeptics believe that Clemson football is on a downward trend.

However, the recruiting of the Clemson football program tells a different story and a huge win looks like it will be coming this week with another top-level quarterback.

Christopher Vizzina is the quarterback in question and once the Tigers were knocked out of the race for Arch Manning, they targeted Vizzina and while a number of other programs made him a priority, such as Ole Miss, Clemson appears to be the favorite.

Vizzina released a top six on Sunday which not only includes the Tigers but also Georiga, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Auburn, and Notre Dame.

However, Georgia and Notre Dame aren’t going to take a quarterback right now. The Irish are making a push for five-star Dante Moore and Georiga is one of the top three contenders for Arch Manning, so that puts them out in terms of Vizzina.

What do crystal balls say about Clemson and Christopher Vizzina

Vizzina told 247 sports that he will be making his announcement on Tuesday between those six programs and as of today, three 247 sports’ recruiting experts, led by Steve Wiltfong, put in crystal ball projections for him to land at Clemson.

The 6-foot-4, 207-pound quarterback out of Birmingham, Alabama is certainly going to make for a solid consolation prize. He’s projected as someone who can eventually play in the NFL and as a likely second or third-round selection in the future.

He’s ranked 52nd overall according to the 247 sports composite rankings and is the seventh-ranked quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class. Alabama obviously hasn’t shown much interest since the Tide wants Manning but he’s got a big-time arm and has upside too. Lots of it.

In addition to the crystal ball trend going in Clemson’s direction, the On3.com prediciton machine gives the Tigers an 85-percent chance of winning his commitment on Tuesday, which will add yet another top-100 arm to an already talented quarterback room.
