Some hires didn’t last

Finding replacement coaches was not as simple as most thought.

Head coach Lane Kiffin initially brought his brother Chris Kiffin to replace co-defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin. Chris Kiffin was originally with the Rebels before going to the NFL. He was a part of the Hugh Freeze staff.

Chris Kiffin only lasted a month with the Rebels before returning to the Cleveland Browns as the defensive line coach. Unfortunately, he is not the only one to take a job with the Rebels, only to leave days after.

Jeremy Springer was brought in to be the new special teams coordinator for Ole Miss football. Springer only lasted a few days as the special team coordinator before taking a job with the L.A. Rams shortly after their Super Bowl win. Marty Biagi was hired as the replacement.
