2. Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh

There is a lot to like about Pittsburgh’s Kenny Pickett. For one, he played a lot of football for the Panthers, attempting 1,674 passes in over 52 career games. He’s got a career completion percentage of 62 percent and also threw 81 TDs compared to 32 interceptions.

However, Pickett never had more than 13 touchdown passes in a season before last year and also never averaged more than 6.3 yards per attempt. Last season, he averaged 9.7.

That’s a pretty big difference and you wonder if he just made a leap or if it was the offensive system or what? Still, he’s got the size, he’s accurate, and he’s got a good arm.

Pickett seems a lot like the next Matt Ryan and maybe Atlanta believes that he is and takes him with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft.

It wouldn’t shock me at all if Pickett wound up as the first quarterback off the board. People view him as a safer quarterback and he probably is, but there is still risk with him too, especially since he was sort of a one-year wonder.

Perfect fit: Atlanta
