There are three five-star QBs remaining in the 2023 college football recruiting class and here’s the latest buzz including a new leader for Arch Manning.

As we move along in the 2023 college football recruiting class, we are still about seven months away from early national signing day in December.

A lot can and will happen in college football recruiting between now and then. One thing that should happen sometime in that time period is a commitment from five-star quarterback Arch Manning.

There are three five-star quarterbacks still not committed in the 2023 class. Arch Manning is the most well-known and is the No. 1 overall prospect in 2023 according to the 247 sports composite rankings, as well as the On3.com consensus rankings.

However, Dante Moore is another talented five-star still available, as is Jaden Rashada, a five-star passer from California who is also seeing his recruitment really heat up in recent weeks.

Generally, quarterbacks make their decisions before the season and that would be my expectation with Manning, Moore, and Rashada. So where do things stand? We break down the latest buzz with each remaining five-star QB in the 2023 college football recruiting class.

Arch Manning has a new leader

The Arch Manning sweepstakes have been fascinating to watch and he’s been taking visits throughout the spring. There was even a surprise at one point as he made an unexpected trip to Virginia, which prompted us to explore that as a real possibility.

While the Mannings have ties to the University of Virginia, it’s hard to see Arch actually going there and after his tour of visits to Texas, Alabama, and Georgia, there is a new leader — the Longhorns who have a 38 percent chance of landing his commitment according to the On3.com prediciton machine.

Alabama was the leader according to the prediction machine not long ago, with the Bulldogs in third. Steve Sarkisian has built a strong rapport with Manning from his days at Bama and it’s paying off right now for Texas, although the prediction machine still doesn’t give any team a better than 50 percent chance.

Jaden Rashada to visit Ole Miss

Rashada still has a fairly open recruitment right now but this weekend could change that as he was expected to visit Oregon and instead is going to Ole Miss.

Ole Miss football had been the leader according to the On3.com prediction machine but Oregon has been gaining traction along with Miami, which recently hosted Rashada. The Ducks now have a 51-percent chance to win his recruitment, followed by the Canes (28 percent) and Ole Miss (9).

Oregon is playing its spring game this weekend and Rashada was supposed to visit, but now he’s going to Ole Miss and the Rebels need to take advantage.

The Ducks also have interest in Dante Moore and he locked in an official visit too for next weekend, which could be playing a role with Rashada. Who knows?

Moore is still favored to go to Notre Dame according to the On3.com prediciton machine but LSU, Miami, Michigan, and Oregon are all in the mix.

Oregon and Miami are the only schools involved with Moore and Rashada right now, but Oregon is looking in a better spot for Rashada. At least it was until this news about him visiting Ole Miss, which could cause the prediciton machine to flip again.
