Notre Dame football is holding its annual spring game on Saturday afternoon and here are three things to keep an eye on in the scrimmage.

Notre Dame football will host its annual Blue-Gold Game on Saturday afternoon and it’s a good chance for fans to get a first look at the new coaching staff and 2022 roster.

The team looks to be one of the nation’s top playoff contenders yet again despite not having a clear starter at quarterback or running back and a new staff means even more uncertainty.

There will be plenty of reasons to watch the Notre Dame spring game on Saturday, but here are the top three.

3. New-look coaching staff

The most obvious thing to watch has to be the new-look coaching staff under Marcus Freeman.

Tommy Rees remains the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach despite the change and Brian Kelly leaving for LSU. The offense should have a similar feel to it, but it’s always interesting to take note of even the slightest changes with a new head coach in charge. You will likely see more of Freeman’s fingerprints on the offense (maybe more modernized).

On the defensive side of the ball, Al Golden takes over as coordinator for Freeman, and having two elite minds to control that side of the ball should benefit the Irish.

How will the new coaching staff handle their first Notre Dame spring game together?
