2022 NFL Draft: Top 3 options for the Packers at No. 22
3. Devonte Wyatt, DT, Georgia
With two first-rounders, the Packers definitely could go this route if a few of their wide receiver targets are off the board by pick 22. One way they could go is to help strengthen the defensive line.
A guy like Devonte Wyatt could definitely help make the defensive line for the Packers a lot stronger overall. At 6-foot-2 and just over 300 pounds, he would help stop the gaps up the middle. Wyatt could help improve against stopping the run game that over the last couple of years has been a weakness for the Packers defense as a whole.
Wyatt may be around 304 pounds, but that doesn’t mean he cannot get to the quarterback. In his career at Georgia, Wyatt produced five sacks, 12 tackles for a loss, and two forced fumbles in 49 games for the Bulldogs.
The Packers did bring in free agent Jarran Reed to help along the defensive line. But you can never have too many options along the defensive line. Kenny Clark who is one of the best interior defensive linemen in the league would be very happy with this pick to help strengthen the unit even more overall.
