Since 2015, there are five Big Ten football programs that have found a way to rise to the top, earning numerous honors in college football.

The past five seasons of college football have been chaotic, to say the least — numerous programs have risen and fallen, coaches have moved around, and more.

Still, there are five programs that have found a way to rise to the top, earning numerous honors in the sport of college football. These teams will be ranked by their program’s merit since 2015, including NY6 wins, final rankings, division titles, conference titles, bowl wins, and win/loss records.

5. Iowa Hawkeyes

Coming in at No. 5 is Iowa — a program that is constantly good but seemingly never great. Since 2015 the Hawkeyes have earned the following awards and accolades:

  • One top-10 finish
  • Five ranked finishes
  • Three bowl wins
  • Zero NY6 wins
  • Two outright division titles
  • Zero conference titles
  • Three 10-win seasons
  • One 11+ win season
  • 63 total wins

Although Iowa has not win the Big Ten since 2004, the Hawkeyes have undoubtedly proven themselves to be a top-5 team in the conference. Since 2015, only a handful of programs have as many division titles, 10-win seasons, or ranked finishes as Iowa does. Additionally, the Hawkeyes are tied with Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, and Purdue for most wins over the conference juggernaut: Ohio State. Though the Hawkeyes have not won a NY6 bowl or the Big Ten in 15-20 years, the program is as sturdy as ever and could be on the verge of making big strides very soon.
