2022 NFL Draft: 3 players the Bengals should target with 31st pick
By Dante Pryor
2. Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington
Back in the day, if your favorite artist dropped a new album, you’d buy the CD without hearing any of the songs because of that artist’s reputation. Washington’s defensive backs are similar. If the Huskies have defensive backs in the draft, coaches should want them on their roster.
Kyler Gordon is one of those defensive backs. Gordon may be gone earlier than this, but if he or Kaiir Elam is still on the board, the Bengals could flip a coin and choose which one they want to take.
Gordon’s 40-yard dash time at the combine is not a concern if you put on the tape. He is explosive out of his back-pedal, transitioning to his run. Gordon is an “easy” athlete. He is an elite athlete who also comes through watching him play.
Gordon can play man, press, or zone to fit any scheme asked of him. As good as he is coming out of college, Gordon has a lot of room to grow. Professional coaches will love the confidence, alpha personality, and dog mentality approach he takes playing the game.
