The Houston Texans were one of the worst teams in the league last season so was Kenyon Green the right pick in the 2022 NFL Draft?

There’s no tip-toeing around it, the Houston Texans were really bad last season. They had needs at just about every position and they really couldn’t go wrong with the No. 15 overall pick.

The Texans had the 13th pick but they traded it to the Eagles and got No. 15 instead which really didn’t change much because they still go their guy. Kenyon Green was the selection here and he’ll absolutely improve the interior of that offensive line after being a star for a few seasons at texas A&M. He was one of the best linemen in college football this season and Davis Mills is now going to have a huge cog in the middle to help protect him.

Plus, that run game is going to thrive with Green but now the Texans need to find their franchise running back which might just come later in this draft.

Houston went with defense for its No. 3 overall pick with Derek Stingley Jr. from LSU who I thought may be the top cornerback off the board and he was but was he a reach? Time will tell, but it’s definitely a risky pick but a good one.

Couple that with this choice of Green at No. 15 and the Texans are having a heck of a draft so far. Green was one of the best linemen in the country, being named a second-team All-American in 2020 and then a first-teamer in 2021. He improved in just about every aspect from his sophomore to his junior year.

Houston got a future All-Pro in Green.
