The first round of the 2022 NFL Draft is officially in the books and these three guys were the best value picks and biggest steals at their slot.

The first round of the 2022 NFL Draft is officially in the books and there were some truly shocking picks from No. 1 overall all the way until pick 32.

This was quite possibly the most surprising first round in recent memory and it all started with the first overall pick by the Jaguars because no one knew who they were going to take. And then the Lions surprised everyone at No. 2.

With all of these surprises, there were some head-scratching reaches as well as some shocking steals.

Who were the biggest steals in the 2022 NFL Draft’s opening round?

WR. Garrett Wilson. 3. 30. Pick Analysis. Ohio State. player. Scouting Report

Widely regarded as the best receiver in the 2022 draft class, Garrett Wilson fell all the way to No. 10 to the Jets as the second wideout chosen.

The organization probably didn’t expect to land the top receiver in the draft and the top cornerback in the draft in the top 10, but they did just that. They picked up Sauce Gardner at No. 4 overall and that also happened to be a really solid pick, but I like that they were able to add Wilson at 10.

A trio of Wilson with Elijah Moore and Corey Davis makes up one of the best young receiving corps in the NFL and it also ensures that Zach Wilson won’t have a shortage of targets.

Was a receiver the biggest need for the Jets in the top 10? Probably not, but when you have a chance to take a receiver who dominated the Big Ten last season and had over 1,000 receiving yards and was considered the class’ top wideout, you do it.
