David Ojabo to Ravens (2nd round, 45th overall)

If David Ojabo didn’t tear his achilles heel during Michigan’s pro day in March, he would have easily been a first-round pick and likely would have been off the board by the time the Ravens made their selection.

Baltimore still grabbed Kyle Hamilton from Notre Dame the top safety in the draft and then turned around and landed Iowa Tyler’s Linderbaum, a top offensive lineman and arguably the best center in the draft.

As an encore, the Ravens sat tight and waited for Ojabo to fall to them in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft and it was a perfect strategy. Baltimore needs an elite edge rusher, a long-term one and Ojabo can be that.

Ojabo won’t be ready right away but the Ravens believe that he’ll be able to play in 2022 and with new DC Mike Macdonald coming over from Michigan, where he coached Ojabo, the transition should be very easy in terms of the defense.

And when he’s healthy, Ojabo has pro-bowl potential.
