We could see another one of college football’s elite players changing schools as Jordan Addison entered the transfer portal. Here are the top five contenders.

The biggest story in college football over the past week has been the addition to the transfer portal of Pittsburgh’s Jordan Addison who won the Biletnikoff Award last season after 1,593 yards and 17 touchdown receptions playing alongside Heisman contender Kenny Pickett.

Pickett is now in the NFL after being drafted by the Steelers in the first round last week and the defending ACC champions, have a new quarterback in their own right in Kedon Slovis who they landed in the transfer portal from USC.

Ironically, USC is the school that got all of this started. It’s been reported that Lincoln Riley contacted Addison and there were promises of a multi-million dollar NIL deal at USC if he left Pittsburgh for the Trojans via the transfer portal.

Jordan Addison has now entered the portal and while USC and Pittsburgh feel like the top contenders, as he isn’t ruling out a return to the Panthers, we rank the top-five contenders for the No. 1 college football transfer portal prospect available.

5. Nebraska

Some might scoff at Nebraska being on this list but hear me out. The Huskers have upped their game in NIL and just beat out Texas for edge rusher Ochaun Mathis, in large part because of that. Plus there is a connection to Jordan Addison as his former offensive coordinator, Mark Whipple is now calling the plays in Lincoln.

Nebraska also has a big need at receiver. There is some talent but nothing like Addison and you never know, maybe Whipple’s connection will pay dividends along with the NIL pay.

I don’t think Nebraska is a strong contender but the Huskers are worth a mention, especially as recruiting the portal has become a top priority.
