SEC: Alabama @ LSU

The annual showdown between the Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers is one that always has the potential to be awe-inducing, and the 2021 meeting endorsed such an idea. Despite easily looking like the superior power, the Tide had to hold on late in what ended up being a 20-14 dog match.

In 2022, the Tigers will be back in Baton Rouge (home to one of college football’s toughest atmospheres), waiting for Bama alongside new head coach Brian Kelly. If the battle is as brutal as it appears on paper, this game could hold a heavy share in deciding the 2022-23 CFP bracket’s participants.

Now, are the LSU Tigers a team that should be given much attention in regards to making the bracket? No, probably not. But, the Alabama Crimson Tide are, and they proved last season that they are certainly a beatable squad when their opponents use the right formula.

If the Tide slip up at any point during the regular season like they did with the Texas A&M Aggies last year, then all it could take is a slight underestimation on their part for LSU to send them packing before the SEC title game is even in sight.
