Ohio State is going to be one of the top playoff contenders in the country and this could act as somewhat of a preview for the national semifinal.

Unfortunately for Notre Dame, however, Heisman finalist CJ Stroud returns along with arguably the nation’s best receiver in Jaxon Smith-Njigba and a top running back in TreVeyon Henderson. Oh yeah, and this game will be played in Columbus.

I think Notre Dame’s defense will end up giving Ohio State one of its toughest tests of the season, but there’s just not enough offensive firepower to keep up with the Buckeyes.

Final Score: Notre Dame 20, Ohio State 31 (0-1)

While Henry Colombi transfers over from Texas Tech to take over at quarterback for a departing Grant Wells, this Marshall team finished just 7-6 a year ago and the offense should take a step back.

Plus, Marshall didn’t have the best defense, allowing nearly 400 yards per game.

Expect Notre Dame to have its first offensive outburst of the season and Tyler Buchner will have his breakout game.

Final Score: Marshall 17, Notre Dame 38 (1-1)
