This one is a little tougher to predict than most. Notre Dame is a better team than BYU, but playing on a neutral field against a team with plenty of talent and experience both on the field and in the coaching staff has to have Irish fans worried.

And they should be.

I think this one will come down to the wire and will ultimately be one of the best games of the 2022 season but Tyler Buchner just barely out-duels Jaren Hall to win the Battle of the Independents.

Final Score: BYU 30, Notre Dame 33 (4-1)

Two straight emotional wins lead Notre Dame into a rivalry battle with Stanford back in South Bend. The Irish will return home for the first time in a month and will take care of business.

Let’s face it, Stanford has been trending in the wrong direction over the past couple of years under David Shaw and not even the magic of Tanner McKee can conjure up an upset here. This game won’t be a runaway win for the Irish, but it’ll end in a comfortable-ish victory.

Final Score: Stanford 17, Notre Dame 27 (5-1)
