Notre Dame Football: Post-spring 2022 game-by-game predictions
This is the game circled on every Notre Dame fan’s schedule outside of the Ohio State opener in Columbus. The Clemson Tigers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish have developed an interesting rivalry in recent years and even with Brian Kelly gone, that will live on.
Getting the Tigers at home is huge and we all remember what happened the last time these two teams met in South Bend back in 2020, but I think Clemson gets some revenge here. This is going to be yet an extremely tight battle and may come down to the final possession, but I truly believe DJ Uiagalelei is going to return to his 2020 form and become a Heisman contender.
This will be one of his “Heisman moments.”
Final Score: Clemson 28, Notre Dame 21 (7-2)
Fresh off its first loss in two months, Notre Dame will face another rival in the form of Navy in Baltimore and while Ken Niumatalolo is a great coach and will have his guys ready, the Irish are going to sneak by with a win.
This could be one of those “trap” games for the Irish with the USC Trojans looming in two weeks, but Notre Dame will hold on to win, securing the winning touchdown with under five minutes left. This game will have Notre Dame fans stressed from start to finish.
Final Score: Navy 20, Notre Dame 27 (8-2)
