Oregon football is trending with another four-star recruit and this time, it’s a player committed to Oklahoma in the 2023 recruiting class.

If you have been following the recruitment of four-star wide receiver Ashton Cozart, you probably wouldn’t be shocked to learn that he’s open a flip.

Cozart was recently offered by Michigan and was talking about taking a visit to Ann Arbor, which would have meant he was serious about flipping his commitment.

Yet, before the Wolverines could make any real headway, Oregon football made its own push with Cozart, who is 6-foot-2, 184 pounds and is out of Flower Mound, Texas. He’s ranked 164th overall in the 2023 class and 23rd among wide receivers according to the 247 sports composite rankings.

Cozart has also been committed to Oklahoma since February. But he’s been open to other schools lately and Oregon football is the one that’s broken through as the Ducks got him on campus for a visit this weekend, which could be the final push needed for a flip.

Oregon football emerging as the favorite

Just like Clemson used to have, Brent Venables has a “no-visit” policy for commitments at Oklahoma so the Sooners really frown about what Cozart did this weekend, which tells you all you need to know about where Oregon stands.

Making it even more clear is the fact that on Friday, the Ducks started trending with crystal ball projections for Cozart to flip. Steve Wiltfong, the lead analyst for 247 sports on college football recruiting put in his pick on Friday, and five others have followed all with a confidence level of six or higher on a scale of 1-10.

Cozart would be the third-highest pledge in Oregon football’s 2023 class and the Ducks also have a 67 percent chance of pulling off the flip according to the On3.com prediction machine.

On3.com even has Cozart as a top-100 prospect, so for the Ducks, it would be a huge victory and for Oklahoma, all it can do now is hope it can find a way to prevent the flip.
