Texas A&M Football gets crystal ball for 5-star RB
Texas A&M football received a major crystal ball on Friday for five-star running back Rueben Owens who was viewed as a Texas lean.
The Texas A&M football program put together the greatest recruiting class in the history of the 247 sports composite rankings in 2022 and while the 2023 class still has some work to do, the Aggies are really starting to build some momentum.
We have talked about their push for five-star quarterback Dante Moore and how the Aggies will be getting the No. 8 overall prospect from Michigan on campus in June.
If Texas A&M could land Moore, it would probably be the biggest addition to the 2023 class. Yet, another five-star who could make a case for that title is five-star running back Rueben Owens, who received a crystal ball projection from Steve Wiltfong of 247 sports to the Aggies.
Are the Aggies the leader for Rueben Owens?
Owens is a 5-foot-11, 190-pound running back out of El Campo, Texas. He’s ranked 17th overall according to the 247 sports composite rankings and is listed as the third-ranked player in the state of Texas, as well as the top-ranked back in the entire 2023 class.
Prior to this, most of the crystal ball projections have gone for Owens to Texas, who has been trending as the leader in his recruitment. Oklahoma has been in the mix too.
However, the Aggies, who have done an outstanding job recruiting the state of Texas under Fisher, have surged to the front according to Wiltfong, who is the top analyst for 247 sports and the most widely respected in terms of his projections.
He does say his crystal balls are more of a “pulse” of the recruitment and not a true prediction. But still, if that’s true, that means that Texas A&M football is now the leader and that’s not something that will go over well for Texas fans.
