USC Football: 3 reasons Jordan Addison will shine with Trojans
By Dante Pryor
3. The writing was on the wall at Pitt
Sorry Pitt fans; Jordan Addison leaving Pitt makes perfect sense. Offensive coordinator Mark Whipple took more money to go to Lincoln in the same capacity at Nebraska. Wide receivers coach Brennan Marion took more money to go to Austin in the same capacity at Texas. Kenny Pickett is now a Pittsburgh Steeler.
How would Addison fit in new Pitt offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti’s offense? USC transfer Kedon Slovis is a solid quarterback who’s had injury issues the last couple of years. Will he get the ball to Addison the way Kenny Pickett did?
Sure, things are brand new in Los Angeles as well. However, Caleb Williams is an upgrade over Kenny Pickett and Kedon Slovis. Addison has skill players around him at USC, and defenses won’t be able to key in on him exclusively.
Simply put, USC is a better situation for Addison than Pitt this season. Lincoln Riley is the best offensive play-caller in football at any level. Williams is a superstar in the making (barring injury) for the Trojans.
Pitt is going through some significant changes this season, and transferring to USC was prudent for Addison.
