Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison transferred to USC football. These are three reasons this will work for USC and Addison.

Late last week, All-American and Fred Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison decided to transfer to USC and join new head coach Lincoln Riley amid fanfare and controversy. Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi was vocal about keeping suitors at bay and Addison’s happiness.

Unfortunately for Narduzzi and the Panthers, Addison decided to enter the transfer portal earlier this month, deciding on the Trojans. Many decried the move, saying that Addison was in a pay-for-play situation or that he only left because USC could offer a better NIL package.

Either could be accurate, but neither is illegal in today’s college football climate. One could argue that offensive coordinator Mark Whipple, receivers coach Brennan Marion, and quarterback Kenny Pickett profited because of Addison’s season.

No matter what side of the fence you are on with Addison’s transfer, he is now a Trojan, and their offensive firepower is potentially scary. Coach Riley has amassed premium talent around quarterback Caleb Williams.

In addition to Addison, running back Travis Dye (Oregon), receiver Mario Williams (Oklahoma) and Brenden Rice (Colorado) join Addison in SoCal. Addison gives the Trojans a proven, reliable star around a talented but inexperienced group of players.

Let’s look at why Addison will have great success at ‘SC.
