After picking up a huge crystal ball for five-star Rueben Owens, is Texas A&M football the new team to beat for the nation’s top running back?

Texas A&M football fans have gotten used to watching elite running backs in the Jimbo Fisher era.

That doesn’t look to be ending any time soon.

It all started with Trayveon Williams in 2018 as he rushed for over 1,700 yards and 18 touchdowns in his first season under Fisher, followed by Isaiah Spiller over the last two years, and Devon Achane looks to be next in line.

And if all goes as planned, Fisher is going to add another elite running back in the form of five-star Rueben Owens from El Campo, Texas.

For a while, it looked like Texas was the leader in his recruitment, but USC, Georgia, Alabama, TCU, and Louisville were all in the running for him along with Texas A&M. Plus, Michigan State got into the race late and he even visited East Lansing for the spring game.

However, a new crystal ball prediction may hint at a new leader despite the Longhorns holding a strong advantage in terms of 247Sports predictions. Steve Wiltfong, the 247Sports Director of Football Recruiting, placed a crystal ball for Texas A&M in the Owens recruitment.

When Wiltfong places a crystal ball prediction, you listen. He’s very connected.

Owens would be a massive addition to Texas A&M’s 2023 class and he could have an early impact on the Aggies, especially with Achane likely heading off to the NFL after another strong season.

If I were to guess, I’d say that Texas A&M is probably the leader right now over Texas.
