The college football recruiting landscape is changing by the day and with the calendar turning to June, there has been plenty of movement.

Recruiting has taken a lifeform of its own in recent years and with the official visit season kicking off around college football in June, there have been plenty of storylines — and winners.

There have been some losers as well (Michigan hasn’t had the greatest start to the month), but the winners are standing out.

Through two weeks, there are three winners standing out.

Honorable Mention: Michigan State

3. Northwestern Wildcats

We have to give Northwestern a shout-out here because, well, I don’t know if we’ll ever see the Wildcats ranked in the top five in recruiting rankings ever again. Pat Fitzgerald is off to a fantastic start to his 2023 class, sitting at No. 4 in the national recruiting rankings.

Without even going back to look, I’m assuming this has never happened to Northwestern before.

The reason they’re on here is that they have a ton of momentum and schools like Northwestern (and Stanford) have a tough time landing top classes because of their incredibly strict academic standards. So the fact that the Wildcats are No. 4 right now with 18 commits is just a huge victory for the program and it might signal an uptick in production soon.

So far in June, the Wildcats have two commitments, including their second four-star, defensive lineman Ashton Porter from Texas. He’s also the highest-rated commit in their class.
