Ohio State football has been trending up for five-star wideout Brandon Inniss and the Buckeyes got another key projection in this recruitment.

If you are a five-star wide receiver recruit, then it would be hard to ignore Ohio State football on the recruiting trail and the Buckeyes’ recruiting pitch is clearly working on another elite wideout as Brandon Inniss continues to trend in the right direction.

Out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Inniss is 6-foot, 180 pounds and is ranked as the No. 22 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting class according to the On3 consensus ranking.

Inniss is the fourth-ranked player among wide receivers and sixth in the state of Florida and his recruitment has been an interesting one as USC, Ohio State, and Alabama has all been major contenders.

USC was trending with the crystal ball projections at one time and still has more of them on the 247 sports site, but according to the On3 prediction machine, Ohio State football is the leader (67 percent) and following an expert prediction from Sam Spiegelman, the Buckeyes are looking like the clear favorite for the elite pass catcher.

In his 247 sports scouting report, he was called by Andrew Ivins one of the most college-ready wide receivers to come out in a long time, and here’s more:

"“Should be viewed as a high-floor type of prospect and someone that is going to be able to contribute very early on for a Top 25 program. Will likely have a voice in the locker room given his dog-eat-dog mentality. NFL upside.”"

Inniss can play in the slot or out wide and he could help the Buckeyes replace Jaxon Smith-Njigba after he heads to the NFL draft following the 2022 season.

While Ohio State football has landed a ton of top-100 talent at the position over the past few years in recruiting, Inniss would be the first five-star commitment at wide receiver for the Buckeyes since Julian Fleming in the 2020 class.

Fleming is expected to play a big role this season for the Buckeyes and he should eventually be part of the pipeline of Buckeye wideouts to the NFL.

Inniss looks like he will try to be part of that pipeline too.
