Oregon football is facing a key inflection point when it comes to QB recruiting in the Ducks’ 2023 recruiting class and here’s where things stand.

It’s a pretty important week for Oregon football recruiting, especially when it comes to quarterbacks as the Ducks are trying to find their guy in the 2023 class.

This week is going to be a crucial point in all of that because some key timelines are converging. Jaden Rashada, a top-50 quarterback out of California, that’s been a target of the Ducks, is expected to announce his commitment on Saturday.

Right around the same time, Oregon football is expected to host four-star quarterback Avery Johnson for an official visit and after Johnson just visited Washington and Kansas State, it’s a key point in his recruitment too, not to mention things are picking up with five-star Dante Moore.

Moore probably tops the wishlist of every Oregon football fan in terms of 2023 QB recruiting and the Ducks have a realistic chance there too.

So how will it all shake out? We look at where Oregon football stands with each of its top targets heading into a key weekend for the Ducks on the recruiting trail.

Jaden Rashada won’t be a Duck

One thing we can say with some confidence is that Oregon football won’t land Jaden Rashada this weekend. Oregon was the leader according to the On3 prediction machine and was over 50 percent near the start of June, but have fallen off quickly.

Rashada who is from Pittsburgh, California, and visited Oregon a number of times unofficially but never took an official visit. He took officials to Texas A&M, Florida, and LSU this month, which seems to have turned the tide.

The Aggies and Gators are the top two contenders at this point and since Justin Hopkins, an Oregon recruiting expert for Scoop Duck put in an expert pick for Rashada to land with the Gators, it’s safe to assume he’s not coming to Oregon football.

But what about Avery Johnson?
